The British Museum
We spent the morning at the British Museum today. There is more to see there than is possible in one day. We probably passed through less than a quarter of the museum before giving up for lunch!

Greenwich
We started our day by taking the Underground and DLR to Greenwich. We headed up the hill to the Royal Observatory where we spent the remainder of the morning. Afterwards, we headed back down into town to have lunch and to visit the historic ship Cutty Sark. We then caught the ferry by mere seconds to return to the center of London.

The Tower of London and the Thames
We headed out this morning to visit the Tower of London right when it opened at 10am. We spent about three hours there before having a quick lunch and visiting the adjacent All Hallows by the Tower church. We then crossed the Thames via the Tower Bridge and walked west by the river. We eventually crossed the Thames again via the Millennium Bridge. We missed the ferry by just a minute or two and ended our day by taking the Underground.

City of Westminster
After a very early arrival in London, we dropped off our bags at our hotel and headed over to Westminster. We walked across the Thames and by Big Ben and headed into St. James Park. We walked past the lake, taking some time to look at all the British birds. We arrived at Buckingham Palace in time to get a good spot to view the changing the guard ceremony. Afterwards, we headed directly to Wellington Arch where we caught the Underground to Piccadilly Circus where we had lunch. We then continued onward through Leicester and Trafalgar Squares, soon reaching the Thames once again. We crossed via the Jubilee Bridge, continuing along the Thames back to where we started our day!

Marina Bay Before Leaving
We took one last walk through Marina Bay after checking out of our hotel but before leaving for Changi. It had just rained, leaving everything around Marina Bay a bit wet and with dark skies. It was still rather warm and humid though.

Singapore Zoo & River Wonders
We headed to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve‘s Singapore Zoo via taxi and arrived slightly after opening time. It much cooler earlier in the day and with less crowds. It turns out some of the enclosures were still being cleaned and not all the animals were out yet so we had to backtrack a bit at the end of our visit. We ended up seeing many animals, including a large selection of monkeys and apes. They also had various big cats and many of the usual zoo animals.
After lunch, we visited their adjacent River Wonders park. This was a bit like an outdoor aquarium, with the addition of pandas and monkeys.

Blue Skies at Marina Bay
Its been mostly cloudy here in Singapore for us so far during this trip with just a little bit of sunshine and blue skies. But today, we got an entire morning of blazing hot sunny weather! We went to Suntec City for an early lunch and walked back to the Marina Bay Sands to catch the MRT. On the way, we enjoyed the blue skies and also scouted the area a bit to see the setup for the fireworks tonight. There are a few good options for us to watch from, we’ll see later tonight what we do!
