We harvested our third Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple today and took a closer look at a fourth that we just found a few days ago!
Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple #3 was pretty small and had been growing at an angle for much of its life. We decided to harvest it today as it didn’t seem likely that it would get any bigger, particularly as our pineapple plants are indoors for the winter. We first found it back in August when it was already flowering. So, it is perhaps at least half a year old?
While our second pineapple wasn’t too great as it was extremely dry, this one was pretty good! It unfortunately wasn’t particularly sweet but the flavor was good.
We also took a look at pineapple #4. It seems to be growing OK!
